OḆAḎYAHU

My name is Oḇaḏyahu.

I worked under the wicked rule of King Ahab and Queen Jezebel.
Despite their wickedness, I maintained my faith in YAHUAH and continued to do HIS will.

I was called to a task, that frightened me greatly, ... see here how the story pans out.

A man who revered YAHUAH, was Oḇaḏyahu. From a young age Oḇaḏyahu looked to be pleasing to YAHUAH. His ministry started either around 586 BCE. or around 840 BCE., but his age was not recorded. Oḇaḏyahu was also a servant to two of the most wicked and abominable people at that time, Ahab and Jezebel. Oḇaḏyahu was a governor of Ahab's house in charge of the king’s household and palace. (1 Kings 18:3)

Despite whom Oḇaḏyahu served, he served YAHUAH faithfully, even when Jezebel was killing nebyim/prophets, Oḇaḏyahu took a hundred prophets, hid them by fifties in a cave and fed them bread and water. Oḇaḏyahu made mistakes, by human nature he was a fearful man. But even more so he feared YAHUAH so much he couldn't be disobedient to YAHUAH, and courageously did what YAHUAH asked him to.

Besides saving other nebyim/prophets, Oḇaḏyahu also had a fiery message in regards to Edom and the Edomites, pointing out that because of their evil deeds they will be wiped out from history. Oḇaḏyahu's story and prophecy is considered "minor" along with the other "minor" nebyim/prophets. But every message when reading them with RUAH Ha'Qodesh has a weighty and hopeful message we all need to consider.

It points out or paints a larger picture of YAHUAH's justice and faithfulness in HIS own time. As we read YAHUAH's council, or record we see what arrogance, unfaithfulness, and disobedience bring us. What we see around us today is the same as what the nebyim saw, and is now a greater part of human nature today. Throughout YAHUAH's council, we read or see the weaknesses of YAHUAH's people. But that did not stop them from being true to YAHUAH. They did not allow pride, and ego to rule over them. The same as we should be doing today, remain a constant work in YAHUAH as we look to be pleasing to HIM.
